This happened to Meggie's mother nine years before the story opens. This 534 page fantasy tells the tale of Mo and Meggie and how they battle evil characters to find Meggie's mother.
In Inkspell, a 635 page sequel to Inkheart, Maggie reads herself and Farid into Inkheart . She finds her mother, father and Dustfinger but then the story begins to change on its own. There is some violence and language problems. This book is for older readers and will be on special permission.
